Dear Members of the Austrian Society for Medical Mycology (ÖGMM),

As your new president, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your trust and warmly welcome you to a new chapter of our society. The ÖGMM serves as Austria's central platform to promote research, education, and clinical practice in medical mycology, with the clear mission to expand knowledge on fungal infections and protect public health through research and prevention.

Together with the board, we are committed to increasing the visibility of medical mycology, encouraging more people to join us, and building a strong, connected community. Our focus is especially on supporting young female scientists and clinicians in pursuing active and internationally successful careers in medical mycology.

We are also excited to announce that ÖGMM is now on LinkedIn! We hope many of you will use this new medium for quick and direct communication, allowing us all to stay connected and follow the latest developments in medical mycology.

Our team consists of experienced and dedicated colleagues: Priv. Doz. DDr. Jürgen Prattes and Kathrin Spettel MSc BSc as Vice Presidents, Dr. Angelika Bauer BSc as Secretary, and Ass. Prof. PD Dr. Martin Hönigl as Deputy Secretary. Mag. Dr. Günter Rambach serves as Treasurer, with PD Mag. Dr. Ulrike Binder as Deputy Treasurer.

We look forward to advancing the ÖGMM together with you and to strengthening the impact and understanding of medical mycology in Austria and beyond.
